Whippet often the ears are not particularly hard - the hair is usually very fine and silky and smooth, and can not exist: one reason why Whippet ears are so beautiful, appear to the touch! May have not seen your dog does not say whether the case or are completely bald.
Congenital hair loss / alopecia is also known in whippets, and although it usually occurs when the puppy soon, what could be the case with you - I'll see if I can find links. The situation is serious, especially if it is only marginally affected, but there is no cure.

If you are interested, or hair loss is characterized by redness and dry skin, often seems more a scratch on the ears, accompanied a veteran of more brand - it may itch or skin affections.

Add: You can find all the specific resources that relate to hair loss, but to the American Whippet Club and is almost certainly consult the documentation on the relevant health data and give you further information: http:// www. americanwhippetclub.net /

I do not know much about greyhounds, and should not have hair or not .... But I know that my Staffie suffered demodex he loses his hair, especially on the head and ears.
Take Greyhound to the vet and they include demodex not advokat as prescription drugs, ask aludex is a bathroom for the whole body. Demodex can my dog almost immediately.

Whippet racing is not very hairy, but what is telling his dog belongs almost completely bald.
I would be a veterinarian for professional advice.
